2026 Smart Cities Dive Public Service Awards: Nominations Now Open
Smart Cities Dive invites nominations for the 2026 Public Service Awards, recognizing exemplary public servants. The awards continue the legacy of the American City & County Exemplary Public Servant Awards after last year's merger. Nominees are evaluated on community impact, leadership, innovation, mentorship, results focus, and collaboration. The deadline is March 31, 2026, and submission is free. Photo guidelines apply.

Smart Cities Dive is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Smart Cities Dive Public Service Awards, an initiative recognizing individuals whose work drives meaningful local impact. These awards carry forward the tradition of the American City & County Exemplary Public Servant Awards, following last year’s merger between AC&C and Smart Cities Dive.
In June, the organization will begin accepting nominations for the Smart Cities Dive Community Project Awards, the successor to the AC&C Crown Communities Awards, which highlight projects that solve real community needs through innovative use of resources and technology.
How to Nominate Someone
Submitting a nomination is free of charge. Use the official Public Service Award nomination form to submit your candidate.
Deadline: All nominations must be received by March 31, 2026.
The Public Service Awards honor individuals who demonstrate and can document excellence in the following areas:
- Community impact
- Leadership
- Innovation
- Mentorship
- Focus on results
- Collaboration
Each submission must include a photo of the nominee in color, horizontal orientation, full-resolution, and uncropped. For detailed specifications and examples of acceptable photo submissions, please review these guidelines.
